All proceeds from London City Airport’s annual Fun Day are donated to East
London’s Richard House Children's Hospice
Richard House, London’s first children’s hospice, is located in the Docklands
area of East London. It supports children and their families from east, north,
south-east and central London.
Richard House has provided care to hundreds of life-limited and life-threatened
children from London, such as children with rare and incurable cancers, children
with degenerative genetic conditions, or children waiting for major organ
transplants.
Richard House offers day care, short stays in our residential area, family
support, including befriending and bereavement services. In addition, there is
always one bed set aside for emergency and end of life care.
The team are there to help our children and young people make the most of the
time they have, providing the opportunity for play and recreational activities
and offering support and accommodation for parents and siblings.
Care is provided completely free to families. This means that this year Richard
House needs to raise around £1.8 million in donations to provide these valuable
services. Richard House is dependent upon the generosity and hard work of all of
its supporters and volunteers.
In 2010, London City Airport raised over £24,876 for Richard House.
